  • thenightsource asked: Hey, Whats up? Quick question... Just started fooling around with film and I was wondering what you used to scan your photos (software, hardware, etc.) onto the PC?

Hey! Love your photos. I’ll be following!

Right now, I’m just using the Epson V500 and the accompanying software, scanning to TIFF files then I run them through Lightroom. The V500 is inexpensive, I think, for the quality of scans I get, and the Digital Ice technology does a  good job cleaning up color negs, but for black and whites I have do some cloning in photoshop to get rid of the  dust. For color films or c-41 black and whites, I could get great results without even using Lightroom or Photoshop. Good luck with your film adventures. You’ll have lots of fun. Also, you might want to check out my project, http://electivereportage.tumblr.com/. I think you might be a good fit if you were interested.
